YouTube has hired Derek Blasberd, the author and editor, who frequently used to appear in celebrities’ Instagram posts, to cater the fashion and beauty industry needs and to lead the new fashion and beauty partnerships division.
He is the best in cultivating relationships with brands and influencers in order to help them to effectively use YouTube.
Apparently, YouTube has followed Instagram’s footsteps as they recently launched a longform video platform, IGTV.
The position that Blasberd is hired for is almost similar to Eva Chen’s job, who was hired as head of fashion partnerships by Instagram. She used to bring her connections to Silicon Valley and deepen Instagram’s relationship with the industry.
