Bahria Town has approached the Supreme Court in an attempt to block the upcoming auction of its assets, following a decision by the Islamabad High Court that cleared the way for the sale. The real estate group, through its legal counsel Farooq H. Naik, has challenged the ruling and requested that it be declared null and void.

In its petition, Bahria Town has also asked the court to schedule an urgent hearing and to suspend the auction proceedings until a final verdict on the appeal is reached. The auction, set to take place on August 7, was announced by the National Accountability Bureau earlier this week. It includes a number of high-value properties linked to real estate magnate Malik Riaz.

The legal battle comes as Bahria Town seeks to protect its holdings amid increasing scrutiny and accountability efforts targeting large developers. The company maintains that the move to auction its properties is premature and should not proceed while legal avenues remain open.

As the deadline for the auction draws near, all eyes are now on the Supreme Court’s response, which could either pause the process or allow the asset sale to go forward as planned.
