Pakistani workspace platform Colabs has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A round led by Shorooq Partners. Waad Investment from Saudi Arabia also participated in the round. This latest investment brings the company’s total funding to over $5 million. Colabs plans to use the funds for expansion into Saudi Arabia. The company has already registered in the Kingdom and is now ready to replicate its local success internationally.

Growth Since Launch

Since its founding in 2019 by brothers Omar and Ali Shah, Colabs has experienced rapid growth. The company has increased its workspace capacity fivefold, achieving net profitability. Currently, Colabs operates ten locations across Pakistan with over 5,000 seats and employs more than 300 people. Its partner network includes over 250 ecosystem enablers such as Google Cloud, AWS, Redbull, and Spotify. Global brands like EY, Endeavour, and Coca-Cola are among its clients.

Expanding to Saudi Arabia

Omar Shah, co-founder and CEO, called this funding a “pivotal moment” as Colabs sets its sights on Saudi Arabia’s thriving startup ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and supporting startups in the region.

Shorooq Partners’ Principal, Omer Zabit, praised Colabs’ growth in Pakistan despite macroeconomic challenges. He expressed excitement for supporting their expansion into Saudi Arabia.

Partnerships and Future Plans

Colabs has also partnered with Pakistan Air Force to develop the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, a facility designed to boost Pakistan’s aerospace sector.
