In a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the cement giant stated that the investment will be made through the purchase of newly issued shares in NRL, along with acquiring 250 shares from Muhammad Ali Tabba, a related party. The move aims to finance ongoing pre-feasibility studies involving geological surveys, drilling, and mineral resource assessments.

The proposal still requires corporate and regulatory clearance, including approval from shareholders under the Companies Act, 2017, and related investment regulations.

Lucky Cement currently holds a one-third stake in NRL, which was granted exploration rights over a mineral-rich area in October 2023. Earlier this year, NRL reported encouraging signs of copper-gold mineralisation across two key porphyry prospects in the region, further boosting interest in Balochistan’s mining potential.

This strategic investment underscores Lucky Cement’s expanding footprint beyond construction materials and into Pakistan’s growing mineral extraction industry.
