In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering the working class, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced fully funded higher education for children of industrial and mine workers across the province.

As part of her government’s broader commitment to inclusive development, the program will allow eligible students to pursue higher education at COMSATS University,including its Islamabad campus and seven regional sub-campuses located in Lahore, Wah Cantt, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal, and Vehari. The Punjab government will cover 100% of tuition fees under this scheme.

The Punjab Workers Welfare Fund (PWWF) has opened admissions for this initiative, with direct instructions from the Chief Minister to prioritize outreach and accessibility. Children of disabled or deceased registered workers will also be included in this program.

Campus-Wise Application Deadlines

To ensure smooth processing and accommodate varying schedules, application deadlines are different for each campus:

  • Islamabad: July 9
  • Lahore: July 17
  • Wah Cantt & Abbottabad: August 4
  • Vehari & Attock: August 11
  • Sahiwal: August 15

Students can apply through the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund or consult with their local labor department offices for assistance.
