Pakistan is blessed with several stunning national parks that showcase the country’s diverse landscapes and rich biodiversity. Here are two of the top national parks to visit in Pakistan:

1. Hingol National Park: Located about 3.5 hours from Karachi, Hingol National Park is a vast expanse covering over 6,000 square kilometers. It boasts otherworldly rock formations, expansive canyons, diverse animal species, and even a mud volcano. The park’s unique landscapes give it an otherworldly appearance, resembling a Martian planet. Additionally, part of the park stretches along the coastline, offering a captivating blend of land and sea. While Pakistani visitors can enter the park without much difficulty, foreigners may have varied experiences, with some being allowed to spend a night or a weekend in the park while others are granted only day permits. It’s important to note that there is no public transportation to the park, so having your own means of transportation is essential to visit this remarkable destination.

2. Deosai Plains National Park: Often referred to as the “roof of the world,” Deosai Plains National Park is a massive plateau situated at an elevation of 4,117 meters (13,497 feet). Accessible primarily during the summer months, this park offers breathtaking sights such as emerald-green meadows, snow-capped peaks, and shimmering blue lakes. Visitors to Deosai Plains may even have the opportunity to spot the elusive Himalayan Brown Bear, which calls this park its home. Camping amidst the picturesque surroundings is a popular activity, but it’s advisable to be cautious and aware of the bears if you choose to camp. The park charges an entrance fee of 1,000 rupees for foreigners and 40 rupees for Pakistani nationals.

Both Hingol National Park and Deosai Plains National Park provide incredible natural beauty, unique landscapes, and opportunities to immerse oneself in Pakistan’s remarkable wilderness. These national parks offer an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.
