In a significant boost for Pakistan’s aspiring engineers and tech innovators, McMaster University in Canada has extended an academic invitation to qualified Pakistani students for advanced research degrees. The opportunity includes Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) and Ph.D. programs in cutting-edge fields critical to the future of mobility and intelligent systems.

The initiative is supported by the Ministry of IT & Telecom, which sees the collaboration as part of its mission to prepare Pakistani youth for the rapidly evolving global tech landscape. Research areas available under this program include:
- Mechatronics and Control Systems
- Artificial Intelligence
- Electric and Autonomous Vehicles
- Energy Storage and Hybrid Powertrain Systems
These research positions are based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and supervised by Dr. Ryan Ahmed at the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC), a leading innovation center focused on smart mobility and sustainable transportation solutions.

Eligible candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Those interested are encouraged to express their interest through the official link provided by the Ministry.
The Ministry emphasized that this academic partnership is designed to bridge Pakistan’s talent with international research frontiers, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in transformative technologies. It also aligns with the national vision of empowering youth to contribute meaningfully to the global innovation economy.

Applications are now open, and shortlisted individuals will be contacted for the next stages in the selection process.
