Key areas of cooperation outlined during the event include the development of hybrid double-zero canola, contract farming for chili and sesame, advancements in buffalo breeding and dairy processing, and modernization of agricultural storage and logistics infrastructure. The agreements reflect a growing commitment to shared goals such as food security, technological innovation, and green agriculture. According to participants, the focus will now shift to building complete industrial chains, from production and processing to storage and export.

Several prominent speakers addressed the forum, including Wang Huihua, President of CCCPK; Amina Bajwa from the FAO Pakistan office; Ch. Waseem Ajmal, Secretary at the Ministry of National Food Security and Research; and Shi Yuanqiang, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

A report titled Typical Cases of China-Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation was also released, highlighting success stories and ongoing joint ventures. Officials from both sides emphasized that such forums are more than symbolic, they are platforms to turn ideas into action and foster enterprise-to-enterprise partnerships.

As part of CPEC’s expanding portfolio, this push toward agricultural innovation is expected to benefit not just large-scale producers, but also smallholders and rural communities, with long-term implications for Pakistan’s food system and export capacity.
